La crisis independentista en Yucatán

El camino seguido por Yucatán desde la ruptura con España hasta su integración en México ofrece singularidades muy notables, que se relacionan con la ausencia de actividades insurgentes en la Península entre 1810 y 1821 y con una intensa movilización políticosocial a raíz de la entrada en vigor de la Constitución de Cádiz y de la aplicación de los decretos de las Cortes extraordinarias españolas. La peculiar coyuntura económica por la que atravesaba Yucatán durante aquel crítico período habría de influir sensiblemente en las decisiones adoptadas por sus dirigentes políticos y militares.
